Skillington was designated a conservation area in 1990. Conservation areas are defined as ‘areas of special or architectural interest, the character and appearance of which it is desirable to enhance’ (listed Buildings and Conservation Areas Act 1990:69.


As part of the 2016 review, SKDC have produced an updated conservation area appraisal and management plan for Skillington. There are no plans to change the existing boundary.
