We have two churches in Skillington. A Wesleyan Methodist Chapel in the Square run in association with Saltby Methodist Church and the Anglican Church of St James at the top of Church Street. Both of the Skillington Churches are mentioned in the history section of this web site.


Winter


Monthly walks followed by pub lunch from October to March. Card showing venues will be available. Ring Christine on 860254 for details of walks and Derrick on 01476 860701 for lunch arrangments.


Guild. First Thursday of the month at 7:30pm from October to March - supper provided


Everyone is welcome to join any or all of the above.


Events Throughout the Year:


Weekly Coffee and Chat.  Every Tuesday from 12:00 noon - a friendly get together over soup, puddings and tea or coffee.


Weekly Prayer Meeting. Every Tuesday from 1:00 pm. - Prayers for local issues


Chiropodist. Visits every 6 week, for appointment ring Christine on  01476 860254


Collection of used postage stamps. Collection Box inside Chapel for Hearing Dogs for the deaf.

CHURCH ACTIVITIES IN SKILLINGTON

Skillington Methodist Church was built in 1847. It is one of the most prominent buildings in the village overlooking the Village Green and is still open for business. Open daily, visitors are most welcome. A place of quite tranquility for personal prayer.
